The ambient music suitable for Lamb to the slaughter opening scene
I have chosen "The secret universe" to be the ambient music for the opening scene. It is because this music is a very slow music and it gives people a mysterious feeling, making them wonder what will happen in the end. The starting of Lamb to the Slaughter is that Mary was waiting for her husband's return and this music is very suitable for it as it shows what Mary's feelings are. Her anxiety and query are being expressed in this music. This music is taken from http://www.diatonis.com/downloads.html

Cross Country Run
I was feeling both sad and jubilant at the same time. I was jubilant because my got second for sec 1 overall. I was sad because I got 11th position in the whole sec 1. I expected myself to be in the top 10. The "10th guy" was just a few meters away from me. I should have sprinted and overtake me. Halfway through the run I had a stomachache. That might be the reason why I came in 11th. I will definitely do better in the following years' run.

Lamb to the Slaughter and Way up to the Heaven I think that the similarities between Lamb to the Slaughter, Mary Maloney was a very caring and loving wife at the beginning but she totally transformed in to another person. She became a cunning woman with a astute, sharp and clever mind when her husband told her that he wanted to leave her. With this, she killed her husband and tries to cover up her crime. Her action were a sign of lying and deception. She lied to the investigators. She acted that she was the innocent one and tries to destroy the evidence at the same time. Deception was expressed in a way that she makes the readers think that she was a very loving and caring wife whom was very submissive to her husband. She turned out in the end to the total opposite which made the readers realized that they were deceived of Mary's personalities. In Way up to the Heaven, Mrs Foster acted that she did not know about the morbid fate of her husband was very much akin to the "innocence" of Mary Maloney. She was very submissive to her husband and her husband was very demanding of her. Her husband knew that she did not like to be late and wanted to delay her for her flight to see her daughter. It eventually turned out that he was stuck in the lift of hs house. Mrs Foster knowing that her husband was stuck in the lift left the house for her flight. She knew that he would die of suffocation as she was going for a long trip. Her actions were examples of deception. In lamb to the slaughter, Patrick was not a very demanding husband. He did not demand anything from Mary instead, Mary was the one who kept doing things for Patrick. In way up to the Heaven, Mr Foster was a very demanding husband. He kept asking things from his wife and making things difficult for her like trying to preventing her from catching her flight. This are the differences and similarities that I was able to point out. Please give me some comments. Thanks .

My English comprehension test result release
My English test was returned to me on Wednesday, 17th February. I did not have much time to post it so I am posting it now. My results were horrible. I did not expect my results to be that bad! I was very sad at that time but I did not express it out. I did not think the test was difficult. I was able to understand the passages very well I did not know why I did so badly so I hope that Mrs Anu would be able to help me to realize my mistakes. I hope to do much more better in my next test or maybe in every text.

Answering Mrs Anu's questions I do not think that what Mary did to her husband was good. She should not have killed him even though he wanted to leave her. Murder is a very serious offence and she could be sentenced to death when she was caught. Her child would be an orphan if she was really sentenced to death and she would not want her child to be an orphan. I suggest that she should just calm down and find out why her husband wanted to leave her. She could try to persuade her husband to not leave her and if he still insist to leave her she should just give up on him. It would be better if the child has a mother than no parents at all. I think there is more to Mary than on the surface. I think that she might be a much more cunning and smart person. I feel that she had something up her sleeves but I am not very sure what is it. I really hope that Roald Dahl would write more to Lamb to the Slaughter as I really want to know what would Mary Maloney be like. Have I answered your questions, Mrs Anu?

Winning the short story
challenge!
My group which comprises of Chen Yi , Leon and myself won the short
story challenge! I was very elated when Mrs Anu announced the winner. I
really appreciated the support of my friends as if it was not for them,
my group would not have won as Mrs Anu felt that Hou Yi's group's
story was better. She said that their story was the only which met up to
all her expectation. Mrs Anu still gave my group the prize because of
the votes. My group will definitely do better next time.

sports in Singapore. This information was adapted from:
I prefer Lamb to the Slaughter among the stories. It left me in suspense wondering how Mary Maloney would response to Patrick's break up. I did no expect her to murder him as she was a caring wife at the beginning whilst in Male Child and Love I was able to predict what was going to happen and had no interest reading when I reached some point of the story. If it is not for the sake of obeying Mrs Anu's instructions I would have put the book away. Do your feel the same?
