Book Review on Call of the WildJack LondonIt is a book about a domestic dog called Buck. As there was a gold rush in Alaska, there was a need for strong dogs so a poor servant of Buck's Master-Manuel sold buck at the black market. Two man, Francois and Perrault brought him to Alaska to pull sleds with many other dogs. There was dog called spitz and hekept bullying all the dogs especially Buck. He was the the leader of the team and everybody had to listen to him. Buck wants to have his revenge. One day when they were pulling sleds. Buck had a fight with Spitz and Buck eventually killed him. He was hoping to be the new leader of the team but Sol-lecks was the leader instead. After a while Francois and Perrault had to sell all the dogs in order to get fresher ones. Buck was sold to a group of people but he was ill-treated. John Thorton saw it and keep him as his own. Buck is now more independent. John Thorton was in the end killed by an American tribe. What I feel is special about Jack London is that most of his books are about animals and he is delivering the message of ill-treating animals very clearly to the readers. He is tellng us to treat animals with love and care and not abandon or ill-treat them. He is also trying create the awareness that poachers are still at large and many animals are still being killed and sold.I like to read books about dogs so I particularly like this book. My favourite character in the book is Buck. He is a very determined and resilient dog. He has a very strong fighting spirit and does not back off even though he is always bullied by Spitz. He is very ambitious too, kept hoping to be the leader of the team. There are themes like Power of Instinct and Survival of the Fittest in this book. I have also read The White Fang written by Jack London.
